Mike Monteleone's Biography
Mike was born in Buffalo, New York, and at an early age
his family moved to Los Angeles, California. He has been
a resident of the San Fernando Valley since 1948. Mike is
a graduate of Notre Dame High School, plus worked his
way through college as a mechanic on the weekends and
a bartender at night at the famous Barone's and
Monteleone Restaurants - his family owned business's. In
1972 Mike began his career in real estate at one of the
largest companies in the San Fernando Valley, Forest E.
Olson Realtors. In his first year he was awarded the
"Outstanding Salesperson of the Year" with sales
exeeding 1.25 million dollars. Within two years, Mike's
production ranked him in the top 3 among over 350 agents
company wide. In 1974 Mike achieved his broker status
and founded his own Real Estate firm, Monteleone &
Associates Inc. in Sherman Oaks and experienced over
20 years of growth and success before his merger with
RE/MAX On The Boulevard in 1994. Mike is a rare find in
Real Estate as he brings a tremendous wealth of
knowledge and experience selling residential, commercial,
industrial, apartment buildings, 1031 exchanges, plus
property management. He has also trained over 1,000
real estate agents. Mike has earned 5 distinguished
real estate degrees during his career. He is a C.R.S.
(Council of Residential Specialists), C.C.I.M. (Certified
Commercial Investment Member), C.R.B. (Certified Real
Estate Broker Manager), S.R.E.S. (Senior Real Estate
Specialists), and G.R.I. (Graduate Realtors Institute) In
1984, he was the recipient of the "Small Businessman of
the Year" award by Assemblyman Richard Katz and
UCLA's famous coach, John Wooden. Since 1994 Mike
has consistently received the top residential salesman
award at RE/MAX On The Boulevard. In 1998 he ranked
among the top 3 in all of California & Hawii in Commercial
Sales, plus has received the "Platinum Award" 7 years
straight, which is the companies highest level of sales
achievement. In 2003 Mike became the first saleperson
ever to receive the distinguished "Life Time Achievement
Award" at RE/MAX On The Boulevard. Mike now ranks in
the top 1% amongest 1.5 million agents in North America.
In 1996 he became the President of R.I.A.O.C. (Realty
Investment Association of California), the largest group of
Commercial & Investment Brokers in Los Angeles,
California. In 1998 RE/MAX International recognized and
inducted Mike into the "Hall of Fame" for having earned in
excess of 1 million dollars, plus he has closed over 1.4
billion dollars in Real Estate sales during his entire career.
Mike and his wife Stephanie have two sons. Michael, the
oldest is now licensed and a partner with Mike in his
Real Estate business. Stephan is a restaurateur, following
in his grandfather's footsteps. With a successful full time
career of over 32 years in Real Estate, Mike still finds time
to enjoy his favorite hobbies; bicycling, music, conga
drums, snow skiing, snow mobiling, water skiing, physical
fitness, antique cars, reading, golf and continuous
education.
